This tree gets 24 hours protection, even if a leaf falls, the administration gets excited; See PHOTOs

There is a tree in India which is given 24 hours protection to a tree. This tree is standing in Salamatpur of Raisen in Madhya Pradesh. Even if a leaf of this tree moves, there is a stir in the administration. This tree is so important that it gets a medical checkup every 15 days. About Rs 15 lakh is spent annually for the maintenance of this tree. The Bodhi tree was planted on September 21, 2012 by the then President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa.

This is a Bodhi tree. The tree was planted by the then President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa while he was on a visit to India. This tree is of special importance in Buddhism and is given special protection. It is believed that Lord Gautama Buddha was enlightened under this Bodhi tree.

A 15 feet high netting has been erected around this tree. Two security guards are constantly on guard here. Care is taken by the administration to ensure that no one harms the tree. Even if a leaf of this tree falls off, the officials of the administration reach there and inspect the tree. The plant is inspected every 15 days and fertilized and watered.

Sanchi is a tourist destination in Raisen district. A Buddhist university was established here many years ago. This tree has been planted on the hill of the same university. The then Chief Minister of Sri Lanka Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also present along with the then President of Sri Lanka. The government has so far spent lakhs of rupees on the protection of this tree.

Anyone can go to Sanchi and see this tree. Sanchi can be reached from Indore via Bhopal. Sanchi is about 50 km from Bhopal.
